ANGLICAN 4TH DAY ORGANIZED IN NORTH CAROLINA
The Ultreya held at the Church of the Holy Cross/Raleigh went well! We met some new folks
and renewed other long-time acquaintances. We hope to see everyone at the Church of the Resurrection in Fayetteville,
NC on August 22, 2010 at 6:00 pm sharp! Come out for fellowship and enjoy a pot luck supper, music, talks, and more. Marylou and I will have returned from the Provincial Ultreya near Dallas, TX hopefully with lots of ideas and the
seeds for a plan to do a Spirit Weekend sometime in Feb. 2011. We'll have more details on that as they develop.
(please contact Mona Hall with ideas/suggestions). Carmie Scarpiti is responsible for our presence
on the National A4D website. We hope you will visit often for a wealth of A4D information. (More
updates will be posted as they develop.)
The
first Ultreya for the Greater Raleigh, N.C. area was held June 20, 2010. We had a turnout of approx. 20 people who were
all anxious to get started with Anglican 4th Day.
The group decided to move forward with Anglican 4th Day
in the Greater Raleigh area which is the approximate East/West area from the Rocky Mount and the Fayetteville areas (inclusive)
along I-95, North/South and West to the Burlington/Graham area, roughly a 70-75 mile radius from Raleigh. Several committees were formed and assignments made including General Leader, Music, National contact, Ultreya Leaders,
4th Day and Group Reunion Coordinator, Communications and Interface to the other Anglican communities in the region. A Spirit Weekend or Renewal Weekend (Friday evening/all day Saturday) within the next 4-5 months was also decided
upon. This weekend will be for the Cursillistas who "miss it..." to get them fired up to begin holding 4th
Day events leading up to full weekends. Ultreyas will be held the 3rd Sunday of each month. If possible, Mike and Marylou Harris will be attending the Provincial Ultreya
in August.
